Alzheimers Scotland Community Group
It’s been a very long time since I have been able to go to Cromarty House in Stranraer to work with their service users and families. I had not realised how much I had missed the people and the camaraderie that exists there. Now we can get back to gathering in groups I have the pleasure of working with some very creative people.
We commenced a four week project two weeks ago and here are some of the most wonderful creations from the group members. The sessions themselves are three hours long and quite therapeutic in nature. It has been mentioned that its ‘relaxing’ and ‘peaceful’, I think I attribute this to the nature of the medium of felt and fibres, silks and warm water! The concentration and mindfulness with which these felt pieces have been made is reflective in the outcomes they’ve achieved. Great imaginations and great colours! Every time I teach I learn something from those in my classes. Thank you all!
Onwards and upwards now to next week: our final week will be stitching and finishing pieces ready for adorning their own homes or as gifts for Christmas.
Linda.
